God created us to have a relationship with Him and to love Him–because He loves us. From the beginning of time, God has pursued humanity and shown His love.
Just like the first humans, Adam and Eve, we’ve all thought and acted in unloving and selfish ways. That’s sin. Sin causes us to be spiritually dead and separated from God because He is all loving, and sin goes against His flawless character.
The Good News is God sent His son Jesus to restore our broken relationship with God. Jesus came to do what we couldn’t — live a sinless life. Despite being blameless in all ways, He chose to die physically and spiritually, bearing the consequences of humanity’s sin. Three days later, Jesus rose from the grave, conquering death and sin.
Jesus’ loving sacrifice and victorious resurrection ensure all who accept and believe The Good News will have a home with Him in eternity, and eternity starts today.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. - Romans 3:23, NLT -
