New to Harvest Hills Alliance?
Hello and welcome to Harvest Hills Alliance Church! We are delighted that you are interested in knowing more about us. Harvest is a community of people that help one another to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, it is our hope that you will find HHAC to be a place where you can come grow along with us.
Below are answers to a few questions people might ask when considering visiting HHAC for the first time.
Who comes to HHAC?
Everybody is welcome at HHAC, those from churched and unchurched backgrounds, who are new to Calgary or have been here their whole lives - anybody who wants to know more about who God is and how to follow Him. Our congregation is a diverse group of people from many backgrounds who are friendly and welcoming. On a typical Sunday approximately 400 people attend the two services.
What should I wear?
We are a flexible bunch at Harvest Hills Alliance, whether well-dressed or casual you'll fit right in.
How long are the services?
Each Sunday morning service is 75 minutes long.
What is the style of service?
Services at HHAC include times of worship, corporate prayer, teaching from a pastor, and other special elements such as dramas, dance, or music. Once per month communion is observed along with a special benevolent offering.
What about my kids?
Kids are always welcome! Our children's and youth programs offer a fun and safe place for your kids to learn on Sunday mornings. All workers are pre-screened with background checks and follow the Ministry Safe guidelines. Children go directly to their assigned areas and are checked-in at the start of the service. Find out more about our kids programs. Children are also welcome to join the service in the main sanctuary.
Are guests expected to give?
As a guest we are simply happy that you've joined us! There is no pressure to give when the offering is taken.
Where can I get more information?
To have your questions answered you can talk to the helpful folks at the information desk in the main foyer on a Sunday morning, you can email the church office or any of the staff members, or you can give us a phone call at 403-226-0990. Also, we have a 'welcome lunch' every few months to give an opportunity to meet and interact with the pastors and elders on an informal basis - check the bulletin for upcoming luncheon dates.
